UNM Duck Pond Engagement | Patsy + Ereck

What can we say about Patsy and Ereck? Well to start they are one of the most happy, down to earth, fun loving couples that we have ever met. We love spending time chatting with them about all the things going on in their lives. They have some adorable little dogs, a passion for Disney, and are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Patsy found herself overjoyed when Ereck proposed to her at the Wishing Well at Disney World's Magic Kingdom, a true fairy tale moment! The ring is wonderfully unique, a large emerald as the center stone with small peridot stones flanking either side, each stone their birthstone. It's such a great idea for an engagement ring, unique and oh so special to them! This is our favorite part about meeting new couples, getting to know who they are, what they do, and how they interact with each other is such a joy and absolutely the best and most important part of the whole wedding experience.

Patsy and Ereck chose the University of New Mexico Campus for their engagement session. This is one of my preferred places to take engagement photos. UNM Campus has such a wonderful vibe to it, with an abundance of mature trees, green grass, a picture perfect duck pond, and unique architecture, it really is a great place for engagement photos. Patsy and Ereck plan to have their wedding at the UNM chapel next year and we can hardly wait! We hope you enjoy their engagement photos as much as we do!

{Sneak Peek} Hotel Albuquerque Wedding | Desiree + Mario

Desiree and Mario had a beautiful wedding this past weekend. Their wedding was at the wonderful Hotel Albuquerque and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We have so much to show you from this wedding but before we show you it all we wanted to do a quick sneak peek while we finish working on all the images. We just can't wait until they are all done! Until then, here is the perfect little snap shot of the day.

The Wedding cake made by Cake Fetish, was spectacular! With a cascade of perfect red roses flowing down the front. All the little details of that red velvet cake were wonderful including the romantic little silhouette that adorned the top. The whole wedding had the perfect amount of red throughout. The reception hall was no exception, it had red accents everywhere and we couldn't get enough of it!

Tucked out of sight, away from any of the guests, Desiree and Mario were able to steal a moment to themselves just before the ceremony. They elected to do a first touch, where they met privately for a romantic moment to say a few words and hold each others hand before walking down the aisle.

White chairs flanked the ceremony aisle with little details added by the Bride. Small wood plagues spelled out their names on either side of the long white aisle runner. The ceremony was held under the beautiful pavilion and we were surrounded by the beautifully landscaped gardens of Hotel Albuquerque.

Ronald McDonald House Charities - Girls Night Out 2018

This past weekend we had the great honor of photographing the Annual Girls Night Out Event, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. There were plenty of outstanding vendors on hand to make this event memorable. Here are just a few highlights of what you might have missed. If you have't been to a Girls Night Out event yet, you really are missing something special. Get pampered while you shop, eat, drink, and be merry, all while contributing to an amazing charity. Next year when this fantastic event rolls around, make sure you grab yourself a few tickets and come join in on all the fun. Get a massage, your nails done, a new hair style, browse some beautiful jewelry, watch some belly dancing and dancing to your favorite song. It's the perfect night to spend with your girls.

{Sneak Peek} The Canyon Club Wedding | Bryannah + Gabriel

Bryannah and Gabriel had one amazing wedding this past weekend. The sun was shinning, the temperature was perfect, and there was no wind. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We have so much to show you from this wedding but before we show you it all we wanted to do a quick sneak peek while we finish working on all the images. We just can't wait until they are all done! The Wedding cake was beautiful, with blue and purple orchids cascading down the front. Their 4-tier cake was topped with a custom engraved glass heart. Their names and wedding date inscribed on the front and 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 beautifully etched on the back. This cake topper was really something special and unique.

The ceremony was held on the driving range of the Canyon Club golf course. The views of the mountains were stunning with lush grass, beautiful green trees, and perfectly blue skies.

3 Benefits of a Styled Photography Experience

Putting together a styled wedding shoot with other wedding professionals can be time consuming, but a heck of a lot of fun! Not only do you get to work with the peers you admire and respect in the industry, but you get to create something unique and beautiful together. When putting together this styled shoot we knew exactly which wedding professionals we wanted to work with.

Let me start by telling you what a styled shoot is first. A styled shoot is a photo shoot organized in a controlled environment in which the creatives involved have full control over how rooms look and feel, how their models are dressed, what their hair and makeup looks like, and what the props are, if any. Basically, you get a group of awesome wedding professionals together and see what we can create for our fans.

There are many reasons to put together styled photo shoots: practice, building a portfolio, networking, and advertising just to name a few. We feel there is a ton of benefit from putting together a styled shoot, and if we had the time we would love to do one once a month if we could. So on to the three benefits we love about styled shoots.

Creativity:

The ability for each wedding professional to get their own creative juices flowing is so important in an industry that is built on that very thing. Creativity to me is something that flows more freely the more you use it. This is a great opportunity to try something completely new in a no pressure scenario where you have control over time. Sometimes you have no idea what you can create, you just need a little push to get you there. You want to try something new and potentially hard, but there is no way you would or should try it on a paying client. During a real wedding you need to be in the moment to make sure you capture every detail for your clients, allowing them to relive their wedding day through their photographs. The time to try something new is during a styled shoot. Having this time to practice new techniques and tricks is something all professionals should do.

Networking:

It’s not every day that you get to pick which wedding professionals you get to work with on a wedding, that is completely out of your hands during a real wedding. By having a styled shoot you get to pull in the wedding professionals that you enjoy working with, or may want to work with. Working with people that you haven’t had the opportunity to work with is tons of fun and extremely helpful in building new relationships. I think this is one of the best reasons to have a styled shoot in the first place. This gives new wedding professionals the opportunity to get to know other vendors and help them try new ideas. The Albuquerque wedding industry is full of extremely helpful creatives just willing to help each other grow. Sharing and growing our businesses together is something that I think is very important, whether starting out or if you are a seasoned wedding professional. Creating a friendly community that helps each other when we need it most just seems like the perfect fit!

Building a Portfolio:

Building a portfolio is something that I found extremely hard when first starting out.  How do you break into the wedding décor scene when you haven’t done a wedding yet? Or how do you start shooting weddings when you haven’t photographed a single one? Working with other wedding professionals during a styled shoot is a great place to start. You have this chance to get images of that perfect bouquet in an actual wedding scene. Every single wedding professional needs to have photographs for their website. If you aren’t a photographer how would you get them unless you did a styled shoot? Helping other wedding professionals to get these very important images is something that I work hard on. During a styled shoot you can now put extra focus on getting the perfect bouquet photograph, or getting that closeup image of the hair and makeup. Making sure you get the photograph of the flatware on the table for the decorator. This is the opportunity to get all the special shots that most vendors hope they get one day.
