When you think of what a volunteer is what do you think of?
For the last three years we have had the great honor of photographing the volunteer appreciation dinner for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. Every year we are awe struck by the diversity of the volunteers that attend the dinner. Young and old, male and female, human and dog.. they have therapy dogs who like all the other volunteers are treated like family. Family is definitely what comes to mind when I think about this volunteer community. My heart is filled with love and admiration when I see the hard work they put in each year to help families in need. Every single volunteer puts their heart and soul into the work that they do. These volunteers perform a range of duties from cooking and cleaning to hosting families. The therapy pups do their duty to brighten the day of ill children and comfort those who need their special touch. Everyone does their part, big and small, every small act of kindness carries with it the power to help heal these families while they endure hard times.
Volunteering is close to my heart, if you are ever interested in helping the Ronald McDonald House of New Mexico please visit their site.
