We love the Sandia's with snow, don't you?
Bryannah and Gabriel wanted to have winter engagement photos, specifically engagement photos in the snow. We are very fortunate to live in the beautiful Land of Enchantment, where a short drive will bring you to many picturesque locations. From Albuquerque we have great options to pick from for mountain scenery, to the Northeast we can travel 80 miles to Ski Santa Fe and enjoy the beautiful Pecos Wilderness. 60 miles North we can travel to the Jemez Mountains and take in the beauty of the natural hot springs and the Valles Caldera. Finally, we come to the closest to home option for enchanting mountain photos, the Sandia Mountains. With two options for reaching the peak; the Tram or driving, we chose the latter. A short 30 mile drive to the Sandia Crest and we knew the moment we got there it was the perfect choice.
We may not have snow year round at the crest but most winters do not disappoint. There is something that is just so romantic about snow on the Sandia’s. It’s so much more magical to have snow on the ground, cups of hot cocoa in hand while cozy up close to your honey to watch the sun set on the beautiful city we call home. The lights of Albuquerque are stunning from atop the mountain. If you haven’t taken the tram up to the crest or driven up for a sunset yet, please make sure you do! What a stunning sight to behold.
Even with cold temperature and chilling wind that day we still had a blast with their engagement session. Bryannah got her wish of having a beautiful winter scene in the mountains for their engagement photos. This beautiful evening photo shoot was breathtaking with clear skies, a snow covered peak, and a colorful sunset.
If you could pick the mountains to have your engagement photos taken, would you want a winter wonderland or warmer weather with spring time flowers?
